Breaker BootCamp Study Guide
A GFCI receptacle protects people from electric shock by detecting current leaking to ground.
It does not protect wire.
It does not replace a breaker.
Its purpose is personnel protection only.
How It Works
A GFCI compares hot and neutral current.
If they don’t match, it trips instantly.
Where It’s Required
Bathrooms, kitchens, garages, and outdoor locations.
One Critical Rule
LINE must be identified before wiring.
Reversed LINE/LOAD = no protection.
Why Breaker BootCamp Teaches This
The Breaker BootCamp Study Guide gives students correct parts language before hands-on work, allowing the Breaker BootCamp course to move faster, cleaner, and without guessing.
